On your arrival in Agra meet with our expert guide and commence your guided tour of Agra visiting Agra Fort and Itmad-Ud-Daulah’s tomb.

AGRA FORT: The Mughals constructed it during 1565-1571. Emperor Akbar laid the foundation of this majestic citadel in 1565, however, Emperor Shahjahan, Akbar's grandson completed the fort in 1571. Later in the years, he was imprisoned by his own son Aurangzeb for eight long years in Musanman Burj overlooking the Taj Mahal where he had taken his last breath.

Itmad-Ud-Dhula’s tomb: The first tomb in India which is entirely made from Marble. You will be amazed by the carvings made on the walls. Itmad-Ud-Dhula (Pillar of the state) is the title given to Ghiyas Beg by the emperor The Akbar for his excellent work. It was built by her daughter Nur Jahan (Mehrunnisa twentieth wife of Mughal emperor Jahangir) for her parents Ghiyas Beg and his wife Asmat Begum (Grand Parent of Mumtaz Mahal inspiration of Taj Mahal).

After the visit check in at the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 02: Agra – Delhi

Early morning visit, The Taj Mahal on Sunrise, for a mesmerizing view. (Taj Mahal is closed on Friday)

TAJ MAHAL: This magnificent monument was declared as one of the “seven wonders of the world” in the year 2007 by UNESCO. Popularly known as "the epitome of love". Shah Jahan the fifth emperor of the Mughal dynasty, got this monument constructed in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It was embellished by several precious and semi-precious stones. Which were brought to Agra from across the world? However as per the Islamic beliefs, graves aren’t supposed to be decorated, this is the reason the mausoleum of Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal are not decorated. Most of the calligraphy done on walls of the Taj Mahal was taken from the holy book of the Quran.

After the visit to the Taj Mahal, return to the hotel for breakfast. Later we drove to Fatehpur Sikri.

FATEHPUR SIKRI: This is also called the Ghost city. It is a small city in northern India, just west of Agra, founded by a 16th-century Mughal emperor. Red sandstone buildings cluster at its center. Buland Darwaza gate is the entrance to Jama Masjid Mosque. Nearby is the marble Tomb of Salim Chishti. Diwan-E-Khas Hall has a carved central pillar. Jodha Bai’s Palace is a mix of Hindu and Mughal styles, next to the 5-story Panch Mahal that overlooks the site.
